About Hoang Huy Long
I’m Hoang Huy Long (born Dec 23rd, 1988), a professional sound engineer in Vietnam, where I am also known as a songwriter.
Born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in the time when playing and enjoying music did not take an important role in Vietnamese people’s life then, I grew up as other other children within hope of his parents would like him to be a doctor or industrial engineer.
After graduating a local high school, I entered the Hoa Sen University major in business administration in 2007.
As I was born in a musical family in which each member can sing or play musical instrument, somehow, music has been part of my life. I began writing lyrics base on his favorite foreign songs since 2004 and performed at high school and university festivals.
A chance came to me when Duong Khac Linh, one of the best music producer in Vietnam, asked me to write lyrics for his songs. And in 2009, my very first professional song released as one of the soundtracks of Giao Lo Dinh Menh, a movie by Victor Vu.
In 2008, Duong Khac Linh built up a company and needed a sound engineer who can help him in his projects. He asked me to play this role. I had just graduated BBA at his university then, and I had to choose between his major or living with his dreams. And I made one of the biggest decisions of my life, being a songwriter and sound engineer at a record company.

Career developments
Working in music industry and collaborate with talented artists used to be an unreachable dream to me. Since I caught my dream, I was knowing that I must try his best in order not to be obsoleted.
I began with basic elements of ProTools as recording and editing by learning myself via online courses and accumulated Linh’s experiences. After few months, I marked an obvious advance which Duong Khac Linh invited his friend Yang Xi Clement from Singapore to teach me mixing techniques as a reward.
Meanwhile, during the progress of making Thanh Bui’s first album in Vietnam, Duong Ve Xa Xoi, I learnt a lot from this artist about vocal producing and the way people work internationally.
After more than a year, I was told as one of the best sound engineer in Vietnam and working standalone on mixing and vocal producing.
My recent progresses were being a mastering engineer which I accumulated from articles on audio engineers’ forum. And since 2012, I’ve written my own songs based on other producer’s beats. which had been used for TVCs, and exclusive songs for a local singers.

After more than four years in the industry, I has written lyrics for over 200 songs and collaborate with some top songwriters and singers in Vietnam.
In TVC side, I have been writing lyrics for big brands as Samsung, Nestcafe, Fiditour, Emos, Xmen, K +, Viettel, Kotex, Kit Kat, etc.
Nguyen Pham Thuy Trang’s album, Runaway, was vocal produced by me. Besides, I was co-producer in vocal side of Thanh Bui’s album, Tim Ve Dau Yeu; Ho Ngoc Ha’s album, Invincible, etc. And in late 2013, I took part in Dinh Huong’s debut album as a senior music producer and main sound engineer, and as mixing and mastering engineer of lastest album and singles of Van-Anh Nguyen (an Vietnamese Australian pianist).
My recent hits were:

- Vi nguoi gian doi (Ho Ngoc Ha)
- Duong ve xa xoi (Thanh Bui)
- Huong sen (X5)
- Dong xanh (Vy Oanh)
- Tan (Anna Truong)
- We’re in trouble now (Thanh Bui) - Vut Bay (Yan Generation)
- Awakening (Dinh Huong)
In the near future, I am going to launch my new songs, Khoang cach chia doi, for Dung Ha (Hakoota), and some other songs for Dinh Huong and YoungQ. And also, my song is chosen as a themesong for “Co gai trong mo”, a reality show.
